There have been many talks and discussions about matching wedding looks, whether it is for the bride and groom, bridesmaids or guests. With rising need to show off individuality not so many matching looks can be seen nowadays and those that can be seen usually involve a theme that is related to an important subject for bride and groom, such as TV shows, love of certain places and eras, music, and so on.
It seems that a lot of Sacramento brides like the idea of matching looks for their wedding but they are simply too concerned with the possibility to go overboard and become an example of a kitsch, wouldn’t you agree?
A Brides Question
So, I’m really on a tight budget. Can the bridesmaids just pick something in a color family? Has anyone done this? What would it look like? Is it too haphazard looking?? I feel like this is my only option as I have VERY different sizing to try to coordinate everyone perfectly. I have junior bridesmaids too. I’m considering not having bridesmaids if I can’t figure out a cheaper alternative. But they are all family and I WANT to include them. But not pay for them. Haha. I just have to because they’re young and my mom thinks it’s necessary for the bride to pay. Idk what to do.
The women who stand beside the bride may have diverse body shapes, heights, coloring and style preferences. Co-ordination in some respect is essential, but does not have to come at the expense of comfort.
Pick one element from the bride’s gown to carry through the bridesmaids’ dresses. This may be lace, beading, or a special piece of embroidery. You can give the women a choice of dresses, so they can pick the right cut (open or closed back), length, and even color. You can have the top or bottom consistent between women and have them choose the top that fits them.
Not a fan of the multi-toned look? No worries! To achieve a more traditional monochrome bridesmaid look, simply assign the girls one color, and they’ll pick the dress silhouette. For the best effect, make sure they choose a variety of dress necklines and fabrics. This way there’s a balance of different styles and nobody will look like the odd one out.
