Three Fabulous Restaurants Opening in 2020

The Farm-to-Fork Capital will be even more fabulous with these new restaurants opening in 2020.

First up is a new restaurant in a favorite old spot from the owners of Bennett's Kitchen Bar Market, one of Roseville's best restaurants.

A Rocklin couple’s restaurant concept is under construction at Bandera’s previous location near the corner of Fair Oaks Boulevard and Howe Avenue.

Bennett’s kitchen & bar is expected to open at 2232 Fair Oaks Blvd. in The UV shopping center around next October, co-owner Brian Bennett said. He described it as an “upscale-casual neighborhood place,” with dinner entrees anywhere from $20 to $40, but no set type of cuisine for now.

“We’ve got a little work to do as far as fleshing out what we’re going to do there,” Bennett said. “We’re going to do what we’ve always done, which is use great food sourced from great produce and animals and put great meals on the table. What exactly that shape or form will be is something we’re not sure of yet.”

Veggie Pizza I'm very excited about Majka Pizzeria & Bakery on 15th & Q. On their Instagram they say they're coming sometime, but the Hyper Likely site, they're opening in March.

From SacTown Magazine
Sacramento is about to get a “slice” of a legendary Bay Area pizzeria thanks to a pair of former members of Berkeley’s Cheese Board Collective. The husband-and-wife team Alex Sherry and Chutharat Sae Tong recently moved to Sacramento and plans to open a similarly hyper-focused restaurant, called Majka Pizzeria & Bakery, on 15th Street in midtown, catty-corner from Fremont Park, late next year. The venerable Cheese Board Collective hits all the notes that make Berkeley so… Berkeley. Operating as an employee-owned cooperative since 1971, the artisanal bakery and cheese shop’s popularity spiked in 1985 with the addition of a pizzeria featuring a single vegetarian pizza and salad offering per day. Birkenstocked fans lined up around the block for lunch and dinner in what became a beloved local ritual, now with festive live music. They sell around 800 pizzas per day.
Next summer, a bakery in a fab new building named for Sacramento icon, Joan Didion.

The operators of the locally owned Pushkin's Bakery are bringing their popular vegan doughnuts to a project of lofts and retail space in midtown Sacramento. The new eatery, called Babes, is expected to open this coming summer at 2417 J St., according to a Facebook announcement.
Sad to say, we're losing a few restaurants, too. A combo of higher rents, increased minimum wage and competition have caused a few to close.
